WHERE DO WE SLEEP?
The MacGregor 65’ has 12 berths. Between these berths and hammocks on deck, there will be plenty of room for all of us to sleep comfortably. Private rooms are available, however they may include an additional cost.
SHOULD I PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Yes! Please purchase travel insurance when making your flight arrangements. Our journey is dictated by weather, which is something we cannot predict.
I HAVE ALLERGIES OR AM VEGETARIAN/VEGAN/PALEO
Go Vegan! Please make note of your dietary needs in your booking request and we'll plan accordingly with grocery shopping!
WILL I GET SEASICK?
Possibly. We have had more than 100 people on our Expeditions and everyone responds differently. So far, no one has gotten so sea-sick that they were unable to leave the boat. A little dramamine usually does the trick!
DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SAIL?
No previous sailing experience is required. Just be ready to learn.
WHAT DO WE EAT?
We will do a group shopping trip when you arrive and share cooking and cleaning responsibilities. We can accommodate any food preferences you have, feel free to let us know. This is your adventure, and we will shape our meals according to your tastes.
HOW ABOUT SHOWERS?
Plan on swimming in the Caribbean sea more than using the showers. Think of this as a sophisticated camping trip where it’s okay to forget to brush your teeth /shower before bed one night (but not 2 nights in a row).
WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?
Safety is our #1 concern. If our captain has any inkling of inclement weather that could create uncomfortable or unsafe sailing conditions, we will adjust our itinerary accordingly.
HOW LONG DO WE SAIL EACH DAY?
Most days we will spend 4-6 hours sailing and use the remainder of our day to explore islands and other local attractions.
CAN I CHARGE MY ELECTRONICS?
We have 12 charging spots for USB cables and we can charge "regular" (as in U.S. Standard) AC power cables when the generator is running (~2 hours every AM).
WHAT IS LIVING ON A BOAT LIKE?
Think of this experience as an outdoor camping adventure. You sacrifice some creature comforts - AC, Wifi, and space, but you will be sailing around some of the most beautiful, un-touched islands in the world.
WILL WE BE ABLE TO SHOWER?
The Caribbean Sea will be our shower for the week. Regular showers can be taken periodically throughout the week when the boat is in port at marinas that have showering facilities
WILL THERE BE AC?
